Thursday’s Session

Anti-Racist Placements

Charlotte Rogers, Idalina Rodrigues, Robert Frost and Kishan Dahya

A round-table discussion focused on the issues around work placements for DMU students of colour and the approaches taken across the university to ensure that all students can access and benefit from placement opportunities.

The DDMU Toolkit resource “Placement experience: The importance of ‘belonging’” discusses approaches that have been taken to placements in the HLS faculty; this discussion will enable students and staff from other areas of DMU to add to the approaches in that resource and broaden the discussion.

The discussion will then be opened up to all attending to talk about the issues encountered and approaches used across the institution.
